Unprofessional office staff that added charges AFTER I check.
My hygienist is the BEST EVER. The dentist is great.
However the office staff is rude (manager especially) and unprofessional. They added charges to my acciunt after Id checked out with a zero balance.
When I question it, the om got belligerent. This has caused me to look for another office.
User's recommendation: Stay away if you can find an EXCELLENT hygienist elsewhere. Keep a copy of ALL transactions.

- - Seeking appointment at Dental Express; $645 balance unknown to caller and ASAP contact requested.
Hello, good morning. My name is Jessalyn Stokes, and I was reaching out to you because my tooth crown had come out.
I was trying to schedule an appointment to be seen at the Dental Express, but they told me that I was not able to be seen because I have a balance of $645 that I'm not even aware of.
I don't know what that dispute comes from, and I just need somebody to reach out to me ASAP. I was trying to get it fixed; the tooth didn't crack or anything, it just came out.
Preferred solution: I was trying to get the balance $645 off my account cause I don’t understand why it’s saying I owe $645 when I pay the whole 800 and now it’s saying that I had did a dispute a dispute I wouldn’t even aware of

- - Impressions for crowns: one too large, one too white.
- - Chipped tooth led to root canal/crown plan; price about $2000; no temp filling; paid $1500.
Had impression made for 2 crowns, 1 came back too large, appointment 2, the one crown came back too white, 3rd time I went they wanted to do another impression, and I showed the dentist a tooth that chipped, said I needed root canal and crown, gave me price of 2000.00 I did not have it and asked for a temporary filling until I saved the rest of the money, dentist said no and walked out. Asked again please for a temporary filling till I saved the money.
No. So I figured in the past 4 months I paid over 1500 and she couldn't put a temporary filling. She also filed down my tooth with no novocaine I was in shock and tears.
Dentist quick to come in and leave.
I will never go there again still have 2 temporary crowns.
- Marlene at front desk very kind young lady
- Poor treatment and lack of understanding people dont always have money to throw around and need to save for procedure
Preferred solution: My money back for the 2 crowns I never got. 1st crown too big, 2nd too white, 3rd wanted another impression and I chipped another tooth she gave price of 2000.00 for root canal and crown, asked for temporary filling until I save the money was told No,
User's recommendation: Dont use them
No service to replace temp. Caps over a month. :(!
Temp. caps made in June fell off 3 days later.
No response from Great Exp. to get repair. Had to go to Aspine Dental PD. $270 cash to have temp crowns remade and placed on.
Now over a month with temp crown on. Check made to Grt. Exp. for $1300.
No one is in the office during office hours.
Unable to leave a message! :(
- Obviously they do not care for patient pain
- No way to contact them
- Are not keeping office hours
Preferred solution: Full refund
User's recommendation: Very unhappy with service / their communicatio

Don't use this dentist, very unprofessional, and wouldn't help me, when they are the ones who did the work. I have had an infection in my mouth ever since, I just want them to fix it, and they won't, and now Im having other issues due to the infection. Im scared of what else can happen, this is my health we are talking about.
I had a root canal done last year, with front teeth. I have been having issues ever since, and constant infection.
I went in to Great Expressions to get it checked out, they told me, I had to pay for a visit. I need my tooth fixed, and it should be them to fix it, since they didn't do it correctly.
I can't continue to have an infection in my mouth, it is causing other issues. I need this taken care of, its been an awful experience, and I need the company to correctly fix my mouth.
- Whole experience was awful
User's recommendation: Do not go to this dentist, they will mess you up, and not do anything to help fix the problem. They just want the money, the rest doesn't matter

Verified ReviewerFruad paid cash for services 0 balance and great expressions double dipped they charged humana
- - Humana won't cover the second cleaning.
- - The itemized bill lists only a basic cleaning.
- - They billed Humana despite cash payment.
I'm only allowed $1500 on my Humana coverage for 2025, so when I needed my teeth cleaned for the second time, I was told by Humana that they would not cover the bill. I had to pay for it out of my pocket.
I asked Great Expressions for an itemized bill showing all work and price: no x-rays, no fluoride, no irrigation, just a basic cleaning. The hygienist did a basic cleaning. The bill was handed to me; I offered my credit card, and they told me there would be a 4% charge for using it. I declined, and they said they accept cash.
I gave them 2 dollars over the bill and was told that they would mail the $2. I waited 3 weeks and called to ask them about the money, and I was told that I owed money and the $2 was taken out. That was *** I told her that I have the itemized bill with me and it shows a 0 balance. What they did was bill Humana, even though I paid cash for the cleaning; they got paid twice.
*** doubled dipped, paid twice. I'm filing a complaint with the dentist board and Humana. This is not the first time this office has charged for work not done.
I will get my $2 back; these are thieves who got caught. Lucky I have the bill and the money I paid, ***
- Hygienist
- Billing dept are thieves the dentest always changes every 2 to 3 months
Preferred solution: Full refund
User's recommendation: go else where or ask for an itemized bill before work is done, the'll try to tell you that the printer is not working then tell them to write it down, can you imagen how much money they been ripping off the insurance and patience thousands BEWARE!

Verified Reviewer |I was simply left in chronic pain with little help
- - Initial appt; Westland said they can't perform deep cleaning and referred me.
- - Pain persisted; fluoride and antibiotics provided little relief.
I had an initial appointment for March 11, 2025 at Great Expressions Westland office for periodontal disease (receding gums). I was already experiencing pain because of exposed nerves, mostly when hot or cold hit the affected area.
They diagnosed what I already knew, but informed me that they don't do the needed procedure at that office (deep cleaning) and referred me to another office. Fine so far. I called that office but was told they no longer accept my Medicare Aetna insurance. So I called back Westland for another referral.
This time I was referred to their Canton office. I called there and was given an appointment for April 22, 6 weeks later. Over the next two weeks, the dull pain I was having worsened to a chronic sharper pain that radiated across my face and into my forehead. I used ibuprofen and other pain relievers which did little to alleviate the pain.
It got so bad one night, I decided to show up to the Westland office first thing when they opened the next morning to get some help. After explaining to the lady at the front desk the migraine-like pain I was experiencing, she informed me she couldn't fit me in the schedule that day. Really?! They are fine with letting a patient suffer?
They can't squeeze me in somewhere in their busy schedule to get this pain numbed out so I can function? But they did schedule me for the next morning. So I dealt with the pain another night. But when I arrived for that appointment, I was given a coating of fluoride to dull the pain and prescribed an antibiotic.
Firstly, the fluoride hardly had no affect on the pain. Secondly, there was no infection. The pain was coming from exposed nerves. An antibiotic was useless.
So I was left with the same pain! And I would have to wait another month for the Canton appointment? As I literally couldn't live with the pain another day, I had to visit my primary care doctor to get some pain medication. Finally some relief!
As I eagerly awaited the Canton appointment, still experiencing ongoing pain, they called me within days of that appointment and informed me the dentist who would perform the procedure would not be in that day and they would have to reschedule. Okay, that's fine. But I expected to get in the next day maybe? Nope, I was told they would reschedule me another two weeks out!
I explained to this lady the same thing I explained to the lady at the Westland office that I have chronic pain and need help sooner than that. She simply said she couldn't fit me in any sooner. I told her that I can't deal with this pain any longer and since they are the ones cancelling my appointment, they should get me in sooner. She didn't really care.
"Sorry, that's the earliest we can get you in". My last words to her was that they "just lost a patient". She didn't seem to care. "That's the best we can do".
If that's the best they can do, they need to do some heavy thinking about patient care and customer service. Because what they put me through is unfathomable. I'm 65 years old and have never been treated that like that in any medical facility.
My honest opinion... Great Expressions should be called Great Disappointments!
Preferred solution: Apology

- - No written consent obtained before the exam or charges.
From: Pamela D. Cunningham
Subject: Request for Refund Due to Canceled and Unsatisfactory Services Date: May 25, 2025
Dear Great Expressions Dental Centers,
I am writing to formally request a refund for services rendered during my visit on May 22, 2025, at your Lawrenceville, GA location:
Dr.
Nasim Rahimi, DMD
1960 Riverside Parkway, Suite 200
Lawrenceville, GA 30043
Phone: (678) 436-****
Upon my arrival, I asked the office manager whether I would be charged for a consultation. She informed me she would need to confirm with Dr. Rahimi. I also advised her that I had brought a copy of my recent x-rays, already covered by my insurance through another dental provider.
I was assured by the office manager that there would be no charge for either the consultation or the x-rays.
However, shortly after being seated, the dental assistant and Dr. Rahimi began an exam and measured my gums without obtaining any written consent or signatures from me. I was confused, especially considering the previous assurance that there would be no charges. Despite this, I was informed during the procedure that x-rays were necessary for insurance coverage.
At no point did I give verbal or written consent to proceed with the examination or any charges.
The dentist later acknowledged that proper intake procedures and consent forms had not been completed and apologized, stating she assumed the front office had already taken care of them.
After the appointment, I reviewed my receipt and discovered a charge of $1254.00 for x-rays and dental expressions. I contacted your office on May 23rd, 24th, and 27th and left multiple messages expressing my dissatisfaction with the service and requesting cancellation of further treatment and a refund. I was told by the office manager that since the job had already begun, it could not be canceled.
Been dealing with customer services and they are unwilling to submit the right information to my insurance UnitedHealthcare and Carecredit to give me my refund. Now, Carecredit sent me a high bill because of their incompetence.
I definitely don't recommend this dental service.
Additionally, I contacted both CareCredit and UnitedHealthcare to report the situation. My insurance provider advised that I am entitled to request a refund if I am dissatisfied with the services provided.
Given the lack of consent, miscommunication, and procedural oversight, I respectfully request a full refund for the $1254.00 charge.
I would appreciate a timely response and resolution to this matter.
Sincerely,
Pamela D. Cunningham

Hidden unannounced charges; suspect 'antibiotic'
- - Deceptive charges; staff pressed for payment for antibiotics.
- - Dental doctor was absent; the patient waited over an hour with no apology.
Deceptive charges, suspect 'antibiotic' staff wanted payment for; dental doctor was absent from office with pt not being informed. Staff were more like used car salesmen pushing their services while attempting to convince pt of having multiple problems.
when pt didn't have those issues recently. Was kept waiting in chair for over one hour without any apologies nor explanations.Avoid and report to fed authorities if deceit is noted.
User's recommendation: avoid
Deceptive entity
- - Staff claimed I had dental problems I didn't have.
- - They urged paying for an unknown Avoid'antibiotic' to address those problems.
- - The dental doctor was absent.
Staff tried to convince me of my having multiple dental "problems" whereas recently I had none of what they claimed. Also tried to convince me to pay for some (unknown) Avoid'antibiotic' they wanted to administer immediately to address those 'problems'. Dental doc was absent.
User's recommendation: Avoid and report to fed authorities

- - They wanted 3 crowns after a cleaning and exam.
- - I confirmed my insurance coverage; two second opinions did not recommend changing the crowns.
I have been with them for about a year and and after my cleaning and exam they wanted to do 3 crowns some redue.i presented my insurance and they said they didn't take it and it would not help. I called the insurance company and they verified that I had insurance and contacted the office . Now thet decided to take it but I went for 2 second opinions and neither dentist recommended changing the crowns

Hilarious, hilarious, hilarious! What in the world makes you think this company is going to see this on THIS website?
Are you so void of common sense you can't figure out to REACH the directed company and contact, you should WRITE to that company? The elevator just doesn't reach the top floor, does it???
Agree. I like how she terms it “consultation” but allowed gum measurements, x-rays and impressions.
She doesn’t realize consultation means “I’m here to collect information”. Once she opens her mouth it’s an examination.
